Assignment 1 - Learning Aim A
Introduction
I will examine the pre-generation necessities, procedures and documentation inside the film and TV segments and take a gander at how they apply to a scope of various kinds of items inside these divisions including instances of autonomous movies, standard movies and TV shows
The pre-production requirements:
requirements of the product (FILM)
The film Life in a day which producers had to think about the struggles to offer expensive camera equipment to hundreds of culturally distinct people who might never have had the technology to get the footage would be hard, as some 400 cameras could be stolen, and those with the camera don't know how to use it. But, of course, it went better than they expected, as the film includes 4,500 hours of work.there were 80,000 submission from 192 nations, they were also lucky enough to gather bonus footage from people who heard about the idea and wanted to help.
sources of finance for the product (FILM)
Free producers can attempt to get financing for their movies from loads of various associations. The British Film Institute utilize National Lottery assets to help finance new and unique UK movie producers and has helped loads of free movies get created that wouldn't generally have been made.life in a day was financed through crowdfunding and made $607,169 world wide.they put their idea upon to kick starter which told people about their ideas in hope to fund it.produced by Liza Marshall and Ridley Scott, and companies like LG,Scott free productions and Youtube.London to Brighton was funded throw Guerilla funding which is intensely funding a film without asking permission to film on property.
logistical considerations (such as deadlines)
Logistic factors such as deadlines were strongly weighed as it was essential to return the camera shipped out in order to edit and put together as a ton of footage was obtained. They planned to release the documentary after the World Cup on July 24th as it was a well.one thing they preferred was their own team to make sure that the film's expression was clear and the subtitles were clear.London to brighton had a very strict deadline because they had to film the film in 15 day so that they could make enough money to make the cottage.
resources and regulatory requirements
To make a film / film you need a film pass to film in certain places, that's why people / directors are shooting guerrillas where you film without permission to film. They only used guerrilla shooting for London to Brighton in order to have enough money to make the Cottage. And with the British microwave scheme problem, they only allowed 18 days to be produced.
The impact these factors have on each other
Budgeting has the most impact on pre production due to everything revolving around it because for legal requirement you have to make money to get permission to film somewhere that why some film director do guerilla filming. The impact of the deadline also have a big impact because london to brighton was filmed in 19 day and they had to rush it.
The established industry formats used within the pre-production processes
When we went to Harry Potter studios, we were told that all the scripts must be within a certain font (courier) and size(12) as the film industry board is very far away from the old time typewriter font, so that they ask that all the scripts be written in that font and have to be in a size 12 font, this is also because the length is so long now that the number of pages determines the length of the film, the film has to be written in that font. The film must be watermarked and put in different colours, allowing the film not to be copyrighted when it is sent out for proofreading, and if the rules are not followed, it can lead to workers being fired and the work being stolen and without it copyrighted.
The functions of pre-production processes, reasons for undertaking them and the impact they have
Reasons for pre-production are simple, allowing a plan to be taken up and followed, attempting to make it more cost-effective to use pre-production as it allows a budget to be held and established allowing manufacturers, managers, management team and finance team to know their budget. It allows planning to be done so if something occurs and someone can't get in, however they will find it easier than just diving in and wasting money. reason for pre-production is just to have a plan to make sure that anything can occur go as smoothly as possible, keeping the option open that allows changes to be made according to the budget and the views of a director.
The purposes of pre-production documentation
A mood board is a form of collage in a composition that consists of pictures, text, and object samples. It can be based on a given topic or any randomly selected content. You can use a mood board to communicate a general idea or feel about a specific topic. Could use also use spider diagrams which is visual brainstorming diagram to help you organize concepts and ideas logically so that you can see a complete overview of all your information. It uses spatial organization, color, and images to break down topics. The purpose of making a documentation with in a film is to allow filmmakers extra footage that can be used to save footage or to make a documentation on the film that improves the profits of the overall film as it doesn't cost any extra then the film as it's just a documentation so it doesn't cost anything to buy actors, starters, make up artists.
Conclusion
Overall in the assignment i went through what happen before pre production.what skills are needed for pre production.also i have explored the legal requirements needed for pre production
